Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple can lock its switch from Intel to ARM-based processors in upcoming Mac computers in the year of 2020 or 2021.

Kuo says that the change will come with the obvious upside of Apple being freed from relying on Intel’s processor roadmap and the delays that can disrupt it.

The transformation is almost confirmed to start with Apple's laptop, because Apple's chips may take more time to match all the requirements including a high performance for high-quality Mac Products.

Kuo also says the Apple chip manufacturer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has to take a lot of benefits from the plans of the Apple.

From 2016, TSMC has been an exclusive supplier of A-series chips and the system will move forward towards revolutionary chip for Apple laptop and other products.

Kuo also speculated that TSMC will build chips for Apple's car efforts, "We believe that the Apple Cars Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) will support anyone from level 4 (high automation) or level 5 (full automation)".
